Branding: Set up branding software (Canva)

As part of your membership you get lots of content that you can personalise with your logo and contact details such as LinkedIn PDF carousel, infographic, and printed newsletter and Guide - you could even amend these files to make them visually match to your brand if you want to.

We create these in InDesign and supply them in several formats. For the majority of MSPs, Canva is the easiest, quickest, and most affordable way to brand these items. We supply all our brandable assets in Canva.

You can also use this for branding the IT Services Buyers Guide, Email Hijack and other assets such as our lead generation campaigns.

One off set up tasks

1) Get a Canva account

Go to Canva. Follow the quick set up flow to open your account. Most MSPs just use a free account, but some choose to upgrade to Pro to save time.

2) Upload a high-res copy of your logo

If you have Canva Pro (a paid account) you can upload your logo to the Brand Kit so it’s there for you when you need it. Here's Canva's guide.

3) Learn how to add branding

Open the Canva template we’ve given you
There will always be a space for your logo and basic contact details clearly visible within the template
Find that section, click to select and delete the logo placeholder
Replace this with your logo
Go to + Upload... (on the left toolbar)
If you added your logo to the project during set up it will be here ready to use. If not you can browse and upload it
You can then click, hold, and drag your logo onto the area where you deleted the logo and resize to fit
Then update the contact information. To do this click Text tool and highlight any text that you want to change and update
You can also change the colour to suit your brand
You can then alter any other part of the document to fit your brand and voice
When you are happy with your document you can download it for use on your website or to print. To do this go to share > Download and Choose PDF Standard (for online use) and Print if you want to print it

Do I need Canva Pro?

No. You can do this with the free account. You may want to upgrade to Pro later if you want to build a brand kit (colours, logos etc) but a free account is fine to start you off.

What if I want to print the asset?

Great! You will need to download in print ready format, then you can choose a print option from our guide here. Or you can even print straight from Canva depending on your location.

What if I don’t have the skills or inclination to do this?

No problem, get someone to do this for you. A virtual assistant, someone in your office, or our design partners at Plexa can pick this up and take it off your task list.
